4. Plenoptic camera

A plenoptic camera combines a conventional camera lens with a microlens array to separate light rays according to their point of origin and direction. There are two main architectures (figure 20 ). In the plenoptic 1.0 shown in figure 20 a, the input lens is focused on the microlens array placed in front of the detector at a distance equal to the focal length of the microlenses.
