  • Regulatory status of spoil heaps

    The slag heaps as such are operated under a dual system:

    • classified installations for environmental protection" (ICPE): law of 4/01/1993 and decrees of 9/06/1994;

    • the "Règlement Général des Industries Extractives" (RGIE) for labor legislation.

    The environmental aspects of quarrying are regulated by the decree of September 22, 1994, amended by the decree of January 24, 2001, on quarrying and quarry material processing facilities.

    The DRIRE (Direction régionale de l'industrie, de la recherche et de l'environnement) is responsible for monitoring our activities.
