Geotechnical monitoring is an integral part of the design and construction of certain structures, particularly those for which real-time knowledge of parameters enables the construction to be adapted (backfill on compressible soil, underground structures) or for which the risk aspect is important:
on populations (slope stability, hydraulic structures) ;
on neighbours (work in urban areas)...
