Austenitic stainless steels

Fe-Cr-Ni-(Mo) alloys. They have an austenitic structure. Their corrosion resistance improves with increasing chromium and molybdenum content. They are generally supplied in a hardened state, but can be supplied in a cold-worked state when high mechanical properties are required. They are paramagnetic (non-magnetic) in the hardened state.

Austenitic-ferritic or duplex stainless steels; Austenitic-Ferritic Stainless Steels

Fe-Cr-Ni-Mo alloys with a high chromium content (25%) and a two-phase structure (50% austenite/50% ferrite). Their mechanical properties are higher than those of austenitic steels. Their corrosion resistance is generally superior to that of austenitic grades, particularly with regard to stress corrosion.
