6. Delivery status

It is worth highlighting certain concepts that appear in normative language:

• With the "normalized" delivery condition comes the notion of "normalizing rolling", defined as a condition obtained by rolling according to a process that gives the steel a structure and mechanical characteristics equivalent to those of a normalized metal, with the guaranteed values retained after any subsequent normalization. Standardization and normalizing rolling are symbolized by the letter N ;

• the characteristics of certain steels are obtained by "thermomechanical rolling". This treatment gives the metal a structure and mechanical properties that cannot be obtained or maintained by heat treatment alone. It is symbolized by the letter M ;
