11. Conclusion
Over the last few decades, environmental concerns have gradually become a strategic issue for most foundries. Environmental issues are no longer simply external constraints to which foundries must respond, but opportunities to improve their day-to-day operations, control their environmental impact and gain greater social legitimacy. As a result, foundries are increasingly adopting voluntary approaches to integrate environmental concerns into their day-to-day practices, in order to combine performance and responsibility.
