4. Conclusion

The study of high-speed cold forming processes requires knowledge of the material's stress-strain relationship. However, this relationship varies with strain rate and, above all, temperature. It is therefore necessary to establish this law under rheological conditions close to those of the forming operation we wish to describe. The use of a dynamic compression test satisfies this need, and enables the coefficients of a behavior law to be identified. Subsequently, the use of this behavior law in a calculation code makes it possible to study the feasibility of a manufacturing range and to optimize it without incurring the cost of real operations.
