Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR); Réacteur à Eau Pressurisée (REP)
A type of reactor in which the heat transfer fluid used to extract thermal energy from the nuclear fuel (primary circuit) is water, pressurized to around 150 bar so that it remains in liquid form. The steam produced in a secondary circuit via steam generators is then used to generate electricity via a turbine.
