induction; induction

Action of a current induced by a magnetic field.

cattail: stop

Closed tubular part, made of refractory materials, designed to stop the flow of liquid metal. The complementary part of this obturation is the nozzle.

nozzle: nozzel

A drilled part made of refractory materials, whose bowl shape fits over the tip of the stopper rod to stop the flow of liquid metal. The diameter of the nozzle orifice and the opening time of the stopper determine the weight of the casting.

sintering

Thermal action used to weld the grains of a refractory material intended for contact with a liquid metal.
