2. Properties of the cataphoretic film

As with all organic coatings, surface preparation of the part to be painted is essential: alkaline degreasers and zinc phosphating are the techniques commonly used in the automotive industry, while iron phosphating is also common in subcontracting and general industry.

2.1 Benefits

    The anti-corrosion properties imparted to metal parts by cataphoresis are exceptional, and far superior to those imparted by anaphoresis: they enable a vehicle's lifespan to be doubled or tripled without the appearance of pustules or perforations in the underpinnings.
