wax or petrolatum tape

A coating system belonging either to the monocrystalline wax based tape family, or the petrolatum based tape family.

plastic tape

A coating system belonging to the polymer tape family.

visco-elastic tape

A coating system belonging to the non-crystalline low-viscosity polyolefin tape family.

stringing

An operation whereby pipes are lined up on the construction site prior to assembly.

cut-back

Area at the end of a pipe left uncoated for welding operations.

primer

The primer must help adhesion and offer the first barrier to corrosion.
