2.1 Major classes of protectors
There is a wide variety of temporary protection products, each adapted either to a type of protection, an application method or a disposal method. It's difficult to separate all these products into distinct types, as they often move seamlessly from one to another: we'll see that between an oil and a grease varnish, for example, there can be a whole series of intermediate products. We will, however, distinguish the following classes:

1.Standardization of industrial lubricants
The efforts of ISO member countries led to the creation of standard NF ISO 3448 (T 60-141), which classifies industrial lubricants according to their viscosity at a reference temperature of 40°C.
ISO 6743-99 and NF T 60 -162 classify lubricants into families, according to application. Lubricants have been classified into 18 families, listed by letter.
