6. Magnetic Properties
Two classes of magnetic materials can be identified:
hard magnetic materials with high coercive fields, such as rare-earth magnets (e.g., NdFeB);
soft magnetic materials with low coercive force, used in applications involving high-frequency alternating magnetic fields such as transformers (e.g., ferromagnetic materials like Ni, FeNi, Co, FeSi, FeSiB).
