4.1 Ductility
The aim here is to identify the reason for the change in elastoplastic behavior at room temperature observed in Figure 10 for copper. Plasticity in metals and metal alloys is related to the properties of dislocations and their interactions. In a standard metal, plastic deformation leads to an increase in dislocation density (the number of dislocations per unit volume, characterized by the length of dislocations per unit volume).
