3. French regulations

The purpose of this article is to facilitate the choice of glazing, when the required safety features are applicable to the structure or parts of the structure. It proposes specifications that can be formulated to the contractor within the framework of article 5 of DTU 39 P1-1 (CCT). It applies to both new and replacement work.

This article discusses :

• prevention of the risk of falls and/or impacts ;

• protecting people and property from exceptionally severe impacts, such as those caused by vandalism, malfeasance or burglary;

• protecting people in the event of fire or explosion;

• protecting people during exceptional natural events, such as earthquakes or avalanches.
