1. Disintegration – Resuspension
Pulp disintegration is a triple operation involving the agitation of a volume of pulp, its mixing and dispersion by reducing the size of the solid objects (fibrous aggregates or flocs) that make it up. The objectives are to obtain a homogeneous, pumpable fibrous suspension and to separate coarse contaminants and fibers.
1.1 Technology description
The equipment used depends mainly on the nature of the fibrous raw material.
In the case of a "non-integrated" paper mill, the raw material is received in the form of bales of pulp, already dried to between 90% and 95% dryness. These bales are then fed into the pulper to obtain a homogeneous, pumpable fibrous suspension.
