TLVs are guide values established to protect workers against the toxic risks of a chemical substance.
1.1 Definition
VLEPs are defined for all possibilities of inhalation exposure. A distinction is made between :
the STEL, a limit value set for short-term occupational exposure lasting 15 minutes, which may be repeated during the working day;
TWA, the weighted average acceptable value for 8 hours of work per day, for a 40-hour work week and for 40 years of professional life; TWA integrates all exposures over the course of a day (note that for work days longer than 8 hours, an equalization is made to adapt the TWA value to the time worked);
