2. How do you establish a VTR?

Please note

This method of calculating VTRs does not apply to substances without thresholds, such as mutagens, genotoxic carcinogens, and endocrine disruptors.

First, the toxicological profile of the substance must be established and all relevant data collected, then the most relevant and valid studies must be selected (Klimisch), see Determination of Derived No-Effect Levels (DNELs) [FIC 1182] .
