3. Contact an inter-regional chemistry laboratory

3.1 Interregional chemical laboratories

Each CARSAT has an inter-regional chemistry laboratory. The laboratories respond to requests from engineers and safety inspectors in the CARSAT prevention departments. The laboratories take and analyze samples.

Some laboratories also accept, under certain conditions, atmosphere sampling media (filters, tubes) sent by persons outside the CARSAT. These may be occupational health services, for example.

Laboratory equipment varies from region to region, but at least the following is always present:

  • a liquid and/or gas chromatograph;

  • a diffractometer to measure crystalline silica content;
