2. Estimate registration time
IF you do not qualify for an exemption from registration for the entirety of your substance, you must now ensure that your annual tonnage, and therefore your registration deadline, has been correctly determined.
You must add up the quantities of your substance intended to be manufactured or placed on the market and not exempted from registration. This quantity is expressed in tonnes per calendar year.
Once you have determined the quantities per year, you need to carry out the following actions.
Submit an inquiry to the European Chemical Agency ( ECHA ). In return, ECHA will tell you whether or not the substance has already been registered (see How to prepare and submit an inquiry (type 3) under REACH?...
