4. Our advice

4.1 Determine the right time periods and locations for sound level measurements

Before taking sound level measurements :

  • Make an inventory of neighbouring noise-generating establishments, identifying the periods of the day and night when noise levels appear to be lowest and highest, and the buildings inhabited or occupied in the vicinity.

  • Identify the main sources of noise that may be generated by the proposed facility, as well as the expected periods of low and high noise levels.

Based on the results, define the measurement points to be selected, as well as the periods and duration of the measurements to be carried out. The aim, of course, is to be able to quantify...
