Receipt a product : require its SDS or justify its absence

Your company receives products from third parties. You therefore need information about the hazards to humans and the environment, precautions for storage and use, and disposal of these products. This information is available in the product's safety data sheet (SDS).

This sheet will help you determine whether you can request an SDS or other information from your supplier.

A step-by-step analysis of REACh requirements and exemptions relating to the obligation to distribute SDSs will enable you to understand and justify your request for information. You must therefore check:

• if your product falls within the scope of the SDS;

• if your product is exempt from the REACh regulation;

• if you are not an end user of mixtures in certain products;

• whether the substances or mixtures you receive must have an SDS.
