2. Prepare SDS controls
REACh has reiterated the importance of SDSs in chemical risk management. As a result, SDSs are an important area of control for the authorities. The DREAL inspector will be looking at several themes.
2.1 Drafting SDS
REACh requires SDSs to be supplied for substances and mixtures that are hazardous, have PBT/vpvB characteristics or are listed as SVHC. SDSs may also be requested for non-hazardous mixtures containing substances hazardous to health or the environment at more than 1% m/m or 0.2% v/v, or PBT/vPvB substances at more than 0.1% m/m, or substances for which a VLEP is available.
