5.1 Keep an eye on technical developments

From a scientific and technical point of view, detecting nanomaterials in products is a complex task (all the more so when they are undeclared and their nature and physico-chemical characteristics are poorly understood), requiring very costly analysis techniques. Characterization methods are highly specialized and require the services of specialized laboratories.
