Criticality

Product of Occurrence, Severity and Detection, enabling decisions to be made on corrective actions to be implemented.

Detection

Ability of the system to detect or prevent the failure mode.

Gravity

Weight given to the effects of failure modes. This assessment can range from simple discomfort to user safety problems.

Occurrence

Probability of occurrence of the failure mode.

Monitoring plan

Program to control the characteristics of a product and/or process.

Process

Set of correlated activities that transform input data into output data.
