2. Compose the audit team

For a given audit, you'll be able to put together an audit team based on the qualified auditors you have available and the characteristics of the audit. The composition of an audit team depends on the following main parameters.

  • Standards involved and auditor qualifications: if several standards are involved in a single audit, your auditors may not be qualified for all of them. In this case, you need to set up the audit team with several auditors to ensure that you have all the qualifications corresponding to the standards being audited.

  • Audit duration: if an audit is to last several days, it may be preferable to use two or more auditors to shorten the audit time.
