6. Frequently asked questions
Does a company with a health and safety management system perform better?
Yes, what we see almost systematically is a continuous improvement in the performance of organizations that have set up an occupational health and safety management system. This is even more marked in the case of high-risk companies (e.g. in the chemical industry), where accident frequency and severity rates (benchmarks for measuring safety levels) reach very low levels when the system is in place. A health and safety management system also makes it possible for people who are not accustomed to interacting with each other to work together, thus opening up organizations and improving their efficiency.
