1. What external risks need to be taken into account in a hazard analysis?
There are two types of external risks that can present hazards for an industrial facility:
hazards of natural origin;
risks of technological and human origin.
1.1 Natural hazards
They are also called "natural sources of aggression" and can have several origins:
Extreme weather conditions such as hail, frost, heatwave, snow, fog, ice, floods and/or avalanches. Ten-year floods, for example, must be taken into account to determine the amount of meteoric rainfall that can wash away waterproofed soils on an industrial site.
