);[FIC 0024] hazards that the operation may cause to external interests to be protected, given their vulnerability (population, drinking water supply catchment, agricultural areas, etc.).
To ensure that no situation is overlooked, it is useful to have another way of looking at operational risks, by identifying external hazards that could present a danger to your operating site.
This involves studying the main hazard-initiating events, existing or potential, with regard to the installations and activities present on an industrial site. Their origins must be defined.
