 INTRODUCTION

Health risk assessment (HRA) is used to analyze the potential effects of a site's emissions, discharges and nuisances on public health and hygiene. To achieve this, the health risk assessment process is broken down into three stages: characterizing the site, identifying hazards and dose-response relationships, and assessing exposure. One of the essential steps in this HRA is to identify the hazards and dose-response relationships associated with the substances emitted by the site.

  • How do you identify hazards?

  • Where to find information?

  • What does dose-response mean?

  • How far can we go?
