3. Characterize pollution through field diagnostics
Data acquisition directly in the field is necessary to characterize pollution (nature, volume, impact).
Once the documentary, historical and vulnerability studies have been completed, the preliminary conceptual diagram available enables us to prepare a field data acquisition program commensurate with the nature of the sources, transfer media and targets identified.
The field data acquisition process is detailed in the document "Site diagnosis" approved by the MEEDDAT in February 2007.
Diagnosis can be divided into three successive phases:
non-destructive measurement campaign: geophysical measurements (measurement of apparent underground resistivities, shallow seismic survey, georadar, microgravimetry);
