3.1 Legal obligation to inform a buyer

In the case of an ICPE, in the event of sale or transfer, article L. 514-20 of Code de l’environnement states that "when an installation subject to authorization or registration has been operated on a plot of land, the seller of this land is required to inform the buyer in writing: he must also inform him, insofar as he is aware of them, of the significant dangers or inconveniences resulting from the operation".
