Are there any methods other than Multi-Energy for determining the pressure effects of an explosion?

Yes, the Multi-Energie method is not the only approach. Other approaches to pressure effects include :

  • TNT equivalent;

  • the CAM method ;

  • the Baker Strelhow method.

It should be noted, however, that the TNT equivalent is not recommended for estimating the pressure effects associated with a UVCE, but can be used provided that consistent values are retained for the explosion yield.

Can the Multi-Energie method be used to estimate the duration of the explosion?

Yes, an abacus can be used to determine the duration of the explosion based on knowledge of the reduced distance....
