1. Inspection of installations by the Classified Installations Inspectorate
Environmental inspectors can visit classified facilities under their supervision at any time. Their right of inspection applies equally to facilities subject to authorization, registration or declaration.
1.1 Unannounced or "announced" inspections
In the case of unannounced inspections, inspectors do not need to obtain the operator's consent to carry out visits. This type of inspection is carried out in response to complaints from neighbors.
