2. Understanding the role of certified organizations

In the ICPE field, there are both optional and mandatory certifications.

2.1 Optional certifications

They allow you to choose a company or design office whose competence is certified by a third-party organization.

This is the case for the following certifications, for example:

  • certification issued by OPQIBI (professional engineering qualification organization) for engineering service providers, particularly in the environmental field;

  • certification issued by LNE (Laboratoire national de métrologie et d'essais) for service providers working in the field of contaminated sites and soils;
