3. Understanding the role of accredited organizations

The involvement of accredited bodies is either voluntary (you wish to use a service provider whose competence is recognized) or required by regulation (you are obliged to use an accredited body).

In the field of ICPEs (classified facilities for environmental protection), the involvement of an accredited body is required by the French Occupational Health and Safety Code ( Code du travail ) with regard to the health and safety of workers exposed to hazardous situations.
