1. What are the principles of the analytical method?

1.1 A precise but cumbersome method

This method is the most accurate of all estimating methods, but it's also the most cumbersome. In fact, it is based on the breakdown of work packages, and therefore requires that the project's scope of work be well defined. If a task is omitted from the flowchart, it will not be possible to analyze its cost, and the total cost of the project will be distorted, especially if it is a major task.

What's more, this method of estimating project costs comes relatively late, since it requires the work breakdown structure to be completed before a complete estimate can be made.

It is therefore also an estimation method that requires a good understanding/collaboration between the project manager and the task...
