8. Mistakes to avoid

8.1 Don't encourage individualism

The classic errors of the BEH method are :

  • the multiplicity of unrelated needs; we therefore need to multiply the analysis of each aspect of the need;

  • analysis carried out by a single individual or by a homogeneous group of decision-makers; in this case, the analysis is restricted and the exhaustiveness reduced;

  • the multiplicity of components, which makes system analysis laborious because of the multiplication of functions to be studied. On the contrary, if the number of components is reduced too much, the need is no longer adequately covered.
