1. What's the point of an international project management standard?

Each version of an ISO standard is drawn up by experts appointed by the standards bodies of the various participating countries. It is the fruit of an international consensus which validates a common representation of the state of the art.

This fundamentally differentiates normative standards from other standards produced in other contexts (cf. Standards of professional project management associations [FIC 0819] ).
