4. Check legal and regulatory compliance
The next step is to check that your quality management system complies with ISO 9001 and that your products comply with applicable laws and regulations.
The main means of verification are (non-exhaustive list) :
product controls, in particular under paragraph 8.2.4 "Product monitoring and measurement" of ISO 9001 ;
internal and/or external audits, in accordance with paragraph 8.2.2 "Internal audit" of ISO 9001 ;
specific "internal control" or "risk management" controls required in certain sectors (e.g. banking, insurance, high-risk technology sectors, etc.);
checks by external accredited bodies.
