2. Managing a project

The main task of project management is to bring the project to a successful conclusion under the defined conditions. This is a global responsibility that can be described as an "obligation of result".

2.1 Decision-making and delegation of authority

Project management is therefore responsible for making the decisions needed to ensure that the project runs smoothly, from launch to close-out. Decision-making is an essential feature of the management function. Project management is therefore accompanied by a delegation of authority that enables legitimate decisions to be made concerning the project.
