2. Setting up the collaborative process

2.1 Define the roles and prerogatives of each player

The next step is to define user communities in the form of groups with the same rights: access to information, contribution, modification, validation, over a more or less extensive part of the database.

One of the key factors in the success of a materials database for an organization is the ability of people to take ownership of the system, so that it best meets their needs. Human factors must therefore be taken into account when defining people's roles, so that they can participate effectively in the database creation effort.
