To guarantee quality, most customers require :
or the German technical recommendations, which you will recognize by the characteristic letters before the identification number: DVS ( DeutscherVerbandfürSchweißen ), "German Welding Institute";
or German standards, identified by the letters DIN preceding the identification number.
The few standards studied and ratified by AFNOR, our French standards office, almost exclusively concern tubes and pipes for gaseous fuels and drinking water, nuclear power and construction.
For other fields, look for German (DIN), European (EN) or international (ISO) standards. Publications will at best be in English, and exceptionally in French.
