3. Why use standards in thermoplastic welding?

The question doesn't arise when you're working in a regulated field such as pressure equipment (P.E.S.) construction, where you're obliged to apply the corresponding documentation system, in addition to legislation, applicable standards and construction codes, the veritable bibles of the profession:

  • for ESPs, CODAP (France) or ASME (USA);

  • for the nuclear sector, the "Recueil des règles de conception et de construction des matériels mécaniques des îlots nucléaires" (RCC-M) ;

  • for gas fuels regulated by GrDF, everything is recorded by the French Gas Association (AFG).

In other fields, the path to finding collections is more difficult, unless you have a perfect command of English or German.
