3. Setting up the team

The players involved in design to cost are :

  • the requesting party (technical manager, industrialist, project manager, etc.), who formalises the reasons for the study and the objectives to be achieved;

  • the facilitator (consultant or in-house facilitator), whose role is to facilitate the group's expression and creativity;

  • the decision-maker (customer, account manager, project manager, department or company), who has the necessary resources ;

  • the working group, made up of five to eight resourceful engineers and technicians whose mission is to contribute their technical expertise.
