Conversational agent; chatbot
A conversational agent, also known as a chatbot, is a computer program designed to interact with humans using natural language, either spoken or written. Using automatic natural language processing (NLP) techniques and sometimes advanced artificial intelligence models, these agents can answer questions, perform tasks, or simulate a human conversation. They are frequently used in fields such as customer service, technical assistance or personal virtual assistants.
