1.1 Context

Founded in 1979, the Group is an American company, originally from the East Coast of the United States, now deployed worldwide. It develops, produces and markets medical devices for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of pathologies, including cardiac, digestive, pulmonary and vascular disorders. It employs 23,000 people, with offices in 40 countries and total sales of $7.5 billion in 2014. Since its creation, the company has grown both organically and through acquisitions.
