1.1 How does ChatGPT work?

Launched at the end of 2022 by Open AI, the ChatGPT conversational tool, based on the GPT3.5 language model, was an immediate hit in the digital sphere. In March 2023, a new GPT4 version appeared, "more reliable, creative and capable of handling much more nuanced instructions than GPT3.5".

GPT stands for Generative Pretrained Transformer, an artificial intelligence (AI) model that uses deep learning to understand and generate text as a human would.
