7. Conclusion

Faced with a constantly changing environment, human beings are constantly innovating. This ability, which used to be expressed mainly in the workplace, is now increasingly encouraged by public authorities in third-party places open to all, such as fab labs. Thanks to new technologies, fab labs have become genuine shared collaborative workspaces, enabling members to enhance their skills and develop projects in conjunction with companies and public institutions. Their distribution across the country, and their position at the intersection of the private and public spheres, make them an ideal tool for improving citizen participation in major societal issues.
