5. Restrict Google searches to recent documents or documents published within a given time period
The criteria we've seen so far can undeniably improve the relevance of results. But there's one element they don't take into account, and which is often fundamental: the document's publication date.
Google's algorithms rank search results by relevance, not by date of publication or update.
If you want to restrict your search to recent documents, you can use a rather discreet Google feature that allows you to set up a date filter with just a few clicks.
After launching a search on a subject, simply click on the "Tools" tab in the top right-hand corner of the results page. A second toolbar appears, including the "Date indifferent" option.
